The Mum

An excitement

After suffering approximately 30 years of chronic insomnia The Mum has secured a referral to a Sleep Clinic. I have no idea whether this means I will be going to sleep in a laboratory with wires attached to my head, or sent away with a prescription for warm milk. However, it is the first time for several years that I have had a new thing to try so am feeling positive, if not necessarily confident. I'm just so tired zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzgerasgkkrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The Mum is more than averagely depressed about cleaning at the moment. I WANT A CLEANER. I WANT A CLEANER. I don't even do all the cleaning in our house. I WANT A CLEANER. I'm sitting here trying to think of a single reason why we shouldn't get a cleaner. Ummm.

What's the worst thing about swine flu?

Well apart from the fact that it might keep schools closed for a while (yikes!!) its the fact that it is impossible to predict how ill you might get. The Mum spent a week feeling rubbish and 2 more recovering whilst her youngest children got infected and barely even noticed. Try lying on the sofa suffering whilst your youngest (also infected by the same virus) jumps on you giggling and joking. Not, of course, that I would wish symptoms on anyone, but it is a bit much.

Childcare

The Mum is aware that Him Indoors appears to be doing a lot more childcare since about 3/4 of the way through July. He also appears to be enjoying it. The Mum is enjoying being The Breadwinner. Even though Him Indoors is a dab hand at spending hours at a time with his children without wanting to murder them even a little bit, we did agree that a certain amount of paid expert childcare might be a good idea. So in August O and The Small Pink One are both spending Thursdays at nursery. Money well spent I thought; T gets a bit of quality time with Him Indoors, and HI only has one demanding individual to negotiate with. Except, when I popped back home for lunch this Thursday there were FOUR children in our house. Him Indoors appeared to have borrowed some. Huh? I mean HUH?

They think it's all over...

Blimey. After 6 years (and 3 babies) I think The Mum may have finished her MA.

So. With that maths, a PhD would = 18 years and 9 babies. That's really a no-go, I reckon.

...was great fun! The weather was gorgeous which helps, although of course that meant colder nights. But hurrah, The Mum's copious duvets coped. So the secret to good camping? I recommend going with experts. Everything was organised. There were facilities. It was glorious. Check out breakfast for example:
